Default Diplomat and Agent bizarre behaviour!

    Hi all

In my Qarthadastim game I'm running, strange things are afoot!

First: Foreign diplomats keep appearing at various cities, waving their arms about a bit during that faction's turn but then nothing happens. Is this what I think it is, ie unsuccessful bribery attempts??

Second: shoved an agent in to Avernii controlled Massalia. During the AI turn, the little fella decides to sprint the entirety of Avernian territory, providing me with a very helpful map!

Considering you first question: These diplomats are trying to bribe your citys.
The second one has never occured to me

Yeah, that happens in RTW and M2TW both. The diplomats chatting with your cities and such.

I've seen that diplomat thing all the time, even in vanilla. I usually get tired of them wasting 5 seconds of my time and assassinate them.

The spy thing is probably something like he tried to leave the city and move to a certain tile, but it was on the other side of a river or something, and there was an army on the bridge. So to get to that tile, he had to backup the long route to a different river crossing. But since as the bird flies it is only two tiles away the game seem ok with moving a long distance. They will do that sometimes. Don't know if this is your case.

    Thanks all.

And yes, Marcus, assassination does seem a healthy option!
