I Need Help!

Ok so this morning I got on my computer to play RTW and I clicked on load campaign. So It started loading really fast much to my surpise and then it went to the main menu. I tried this several times and it keeps doing that. some plz tell me whats going on and how I can fix it.

Hi Maddox,
May I ask if you have installed any modifications or patches recently? Perhaps that could be causing the nasty issue - some larger mods and some patches remove save game compatibility.

If a modification or a patch has upset your install, then it is, fortunately, perfectly resolvable! However, please do be aware that this will reset your install to R:TW vanilla of either 1.0 (not Gold), 1.3 (R:TW and BI combined) or 1.5 (Gold Edition) and remove the modification at the same time.

To do this simply enter either your "C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\saves" directory, should you possess Gold Edition, or "C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\saves" if you own a standard version of R:TW, not Gold.

Once you have entered the save storage folder, simply right click upon the game(s) which you desire to rescue, select copy, enter your "My Documents" folder, right click and paste. Your almighty save is rescued. Now your old game is saved, you have to uninstall your R:TW game and then re-install it.

Once these actions are completed, load R:TW, start a campaign, and then exit the game. This will create all the necessary files required to complete the next step.

To complete the final restoration of the save open up your "My Documents" folder, right-click on the saved file and select paste. Once you have completed that enter either your "C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\saves" should you possess Gold Edition, or "C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\saves" if you own a standard version of R:TW, not Gold. Right click in the folder and simply select paste to restore your save to it's former location.

If you have standard R:TW (or R:TW with BI), not Gold, then, if you have patched up since your save was created, unfortunately, you will have to patch up to the version which you were using while the saved game was under creation. For more information regarding patches, please don't hesitate to contact me.

If you have not recently installed a modification or a patch then, most unfortunately, your save is most likely corrupted. In this case, I'm sorry to say that it cannot be restored or played again. My sincere apologies if this is the case.
