Default Some quick fixes that would make the game better (imho)

    1. a button for "make all automoves". As it is now, when we set a course for a character/stack over multiple turns they will as often as not find the path blocked when they automove when you click for turn to end. This of course makes us lose often precious time.

This button would do all tehse automatic moves, and we could then go through the blocked paths, and THEN end the turn.

Alternatively and better make pathfinding UI smarter, but big chance that's ever gonna happen. This is a quick solution to a big problem imho.

    2. Give us the ability to name characters as they are born. Would add a LOT of RP feeling and make the chaarcters much more personalized. That's what I liked so much about the oooooold game UFO, that I could name the characters myself.

Maybe I'm the only one thinking this would be a cool feature...

Just my 2 florins. Nothing gamebreaking really:)

Trouble with the automove thing is... sometimes the alternate route involves going the long way round - the VERY long way round - not ideal. "I told that diplomat to move from venice to rome - what the hell is he doing in africa?"

IMO whats really needed is for strategic units to not be blocked by other units, or at the very least, only blocked by units of the same (or related) type.

    E.g:
Priests, heretics, witches etc block each other and no-one else
Merchants block other merchants and no-one else
Spies, assassins block each other but no-one else
Armies block other armies and nothing else
Diplomats, princesses should be immune from blocking full stop.

This would drastically reduce the number of units that just give up halfway along their journey.

What Med II needs is a Civ-esq control method whereby one can rotate through the campaign pieces in order without skipping back to the first piece. Right now, when you move one of them, the order reverts right back to the first piece each time. Late-game this is becomes unusable. In that respect there needs to be a "fortify" or "sleep" button, so that one can skip past city governers each turn.

No, all spacebar does is turn on or off the fast movement so you don't have to watch them walk when they move.

i concur with this. Also, as another addition, don't allow blind units to step over the other ones they haven't seen. I've had the AI do that (and myself a few times to see that it works) with merchants and resources. I had a merch on Constantinople's silk, and some blind enemy merchant comes in and "pushes" mine aside (without doing any kind of attacking)

Or just bring back the 'Pick and Drop' movement method used in STW.

All this animated 'Monty Python Minstry of Silly Walks' routine is just a waste of game time.
