    Default Inexplicable "Defragmenter" window

About 10 minutes ago a command prompt box came up on my PC and said that the drive defragmenter was running.

However, I didn't load disk defragmenter. And it never looks like that - this was a class command prompt style window not a proper Windows XP program window.

Spyware? Or does Windows XP genuinely ever do this?

I have no proper explanation as we speak, but it is at least very suspicious. With the information available logically I can answer only that it can pose no threat or it can.

    I'd do a virus scan.

Well, since the initial issue there have been no repeats. I tried looking for bad processes using Process Explorer and Hijack This, nothing. Then I scanned with McAfee, then Adaware Plus, and then Spybot Search and Destroy.

Nothing found to date, so I reckon either I'm clean, or I've got a weird designed virus that hides itself perfectly from all scanners but occasionally sticks a big suspicous window on the desktop.

As far as I can see theres no way to further diagnose this, unless someone has a good idea.

One quick idea left to propose is to remove all data from the hard disk and reinstall the whole machine. Then you can be more than sufficiently certain it is clean.

Unless all those data is not restored back onto the hdd again.

Some fellows here have a HijackThis logging method to identify such malwares. Anyone ?

    I'll help you LEN,

You need to download HijackThis!, then you run an scan and save a logfile.
It'll run, and a text window will pop-up.Post here that logfile.

Well, heres my Hijack this results, if anyone who is knowledgeable wishes to review (or if you just want to spy on my PC contents ).

I've done a review of it myself, and also tested it on http://hijackthis.de/index.php which does automatic checks, didn't find anything.
