Ignoramus. leaned back in his chair, sipping down a cold brew, eyes closed, body and mind relaxed as he listened to the rain patter on his roof.
There was a triple-knock at the door. Eyes still closed, Ignoramus scowled. Three minutes passed without any further disturbance, and he settled back into his chair with a sigh.
Again the triple-knock sounded, heavier and slower then before. Ignoramus sighed resignedly, placed his beer carefuly on the table and walked to the door.
He opened it to reveal a tall figure draped in a grey cloak, hood pulled up , leaving his face in shadow. Dead, gray eyes stared out at him for a moment, then the man spoke.
"I'm here to kill you." Teeth flashed whitely in the shadows of his face for a second. Ignoramus shuddered; he had no wish to see that rictus grin again.
"Oh yeah?" he asked threatningly, pulling out a metal bat from inside the house. The eyes seemed to wiegh it thoughtfuly. "This change your plan at all, then?" He sneared at the man, muscles showing through his thin white shirt as he hefted the bat.
Dead eyes looked his way again, and Ignoramus felt a chill.
"Why, yes." A slowly growing smile this time, one of pleasure, and suddenly he wished for the grin back.
"Yes it does."

"This isn't really what I signed on to see." One cop admitted to his partner as they stared fixedly at the body of a middle-aged woman lying on the floor of her house, dead of a heart attack.
"Can't blame you man."
As though drawn, his eyes wandered back up to the ceiling, where the husband, Ignoramus, stared down at them, impaled with a metal bat.
"No-one could."
"There has been a terrible murder last night" It was the mayor, as usual, reporting to the assembly at 8 am sharp. "Igno Ramus and Catherine Ramus were murdered in their own home, Igno by...impalement, and Catherine by a heart attack. My detectives have investigated the matter, and they have detrmined that Igno Ramus was not a part of the mafia, and evidence on the scene leads us to no suspect, though we believe this horrendus act was commited by one of the mafia. We will find him, and we will bring him justice!"
