    Default Unexpected talent.

This is so awesome on so many levels, too good to put in the video thread.

Wow! I'm not even an opera fan and I got goosebumps listening to that. That was simply awesome.

Oh, WOW. To echo Gregoshi, I don't even like Opera, and I can tell that dude is freakin' awesome. Kudos to him for flat out rocking!

    Awesome.

A decade or so ago we had a similar show in belgium (show your talent) with less of a commercial angle than these days. An opera singing painter won that. I wonder why people always think a bit of opera is amazing, but opera itself is utterly uninteresting to most.

EDIT: He made it to the semi final

How could he not make it to the finals? Or has it just not gotten that far?

    Quite amazing!

And doc, opera may be boring, but it's not easy, I think that's why we think he has talent.

That's probably it, I must admit i also fall into the group of people who are very impressed with this but not exactly thrilled to listen to an entire opera (I blame those sopranos... )

No where close to Pavarotti, but still nice.

Pretty damn good considering that he has had no training or real previous experience.

He is good isn't he. His version of "CON TE PARTIRO'" was excellent. Compare and contrast with these classical trained guys and he stands up very well.

Did he get voted off last night? I was busy defending Jerusalem against the Horde!

Apparantly he did receive training and has done a few professional performances. It doesn't detract from what he does of course, it just undermines the 'from zero to hero' story.

The show did have a few other surprises it seems, especially when it comes to kids (those with talent besides cutes)

A six year old girl singing over the rainbow and reduces one of the judges to tears.

A 14year old doing unchained melody

The Britain has Talent Show, from the little I have seen, is not living up to the "talent" part of it's name. That guy was good though.
