    Default Best flat out Rockers

OK who is the best plain old flat out rock band. I dont want any prog bands, speed metal, death metal. Just good old rock. Im even going to disqualify my favorite rock band the Who for venturing of course. So no Zep, no Floyd. No Sabbath. Heres my contenders

    1 Aerosmith
    2 AC/DC
    3 Guns and Roses

Honorable mention to George Thorougood and the Destroyers amd the Motor city mad man Ted Nugent.

Best female rocker Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

PS f the Stones were to only do a set of their rockers they still may be able to claim the title as the worlds greatest rock band. However I havent liked anything theve put out in decades.

I don't like any of the ones you listed. In fact, I don't really like most rock that much.

    Why fight over tastes ?

Replace "fight" with what you'd like in case you find it too harsh for what is meant.

Not really my kind of music (I'm more of the "softer" rock, The Who or something. Or even more soft Boston, BTO, Queen.)

Guns N' Roses have 2 good songs imo, November Rain and Sweet Child o' Mine.

But I'm going for AC/DC, simply better

And (but this one doesn't belong here either) The Darkness makes some very entertaining music.

Man Welcome to the Jungle rocks.

(I'm more of the "softer" rock, The Who
The hardest rocking band in history and you call them soft

Heheh, I know. But they somehow seem more mild then something as Guns N' Roses.

And thats why i didnt put them on my list. If you want the best plain old rock band its the Who hands down. But their more than that so I left them out.

I got to like Dr. Feelgood in the mid 70s, just before I discovered the 'joys' of punk rock.

Mind you this guy makes those wussies in Zep and Sabbath look like what they are....pink powder puffs!

There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

Aerosmith? AC/DC? Guns and Roses? Allow me to criticize them :)

    Aerosmith: EGH!
    AC/DC: BECH!
    Guns and Roses: EGH!

As you might notice, my criticism is highly explanatory as well as well built and constructive Of course, it's a matter of taste but if that's the case I must say -- as the person on this site (http://www.youhavebadtasteinmusic.com/) had been doing to others -- you have bad taste in music!

Are you sure your not thinking of Iron Maiden? Less talented than Kiss?

Iron Maiden's songs do NOT sound all the same...

They have some of the flat out coolest metal tunes of all time...better than any modern "music" by far, the Trooper man...THE TROOPER!

AC/DC are pretty damn good, and you asked for flat out rockers, you can't really get more flat out rock than them..

what about some of the better hair metal from the '80s...Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and such, Pour some Sugar on me is such a cool song.

    Dude...
The Maiden rule, how can you say that their songs sound the same, without feeling guilty?

Dude the guy said All AC/DC sounded the same. I was joking. Now admit all their covers look the same but they all look really insane I hate when I have to pull them for an order.

I must say Im amazed theres not more Aerosmith Fans out there. They sure do rock.
