Thread: System Crash

    Default System Crash

When I start EB or Med 2 my system randomly crashes and reboots saying you have recovered from a serious error and when I send the error report it says a device driver caused the crash but the only game it does that on is EB or Med 2. I have all needed patches and my system is more than powerfull enough to handle the games. I play Dark Age of Camelot, Fear, Battlefield 2 COD 2 with no issues what so ever. I have both games graphics set to recommended setting and so on. Can anyone help?

I'm pretty sure this is not an EB issue as it happens in M2TW as well, and is likely to happen in RTW too. You could run Memtest to see if your RAM is faulty (or requires a lower speed like mine did). When you say start the game you mean immediately, before you've even got to the menu, or after a random time? If it's the latter it could be a component getting hot, but as you can play other GFX intensive games without problems that shouldn't be it.

It happens on Campaigns only, the campaign map comes up and as soon as I move my mouse it freezes and I have to reboot. I can run Custom battles and Historic battles all day long with no problem.

So how did the memtest work out?

You say "I have all needed patches", does this include the latest graphics driver? Could you try to borrow another graphics card and see if it makes any difference?

Ok, I put my friends 768mb 8800 in my machine, uninstalled the drivers for my cards and installed the drivers for his card on my machine and I get the same results.

I'm sorry, I don't know any more possible solutions. You could try to contact CA for support, seeing as both their games are affected.
