adding a new faction

Im looking into adding a new faction, before I commit can someone tell me the basics of what I would need to accomplish or show me a guide.

Unlike M2TW the Rome Total War and Barbarian Invasion games already have the maximum number of factions (which is hard coded at 21 for them) - so you can't add a new faction - you have to change an existing one.

Decide which faction you don't mind losing from original game, then gradually change it to resemble new faction.

Look in the scriptorium database here for individual topics. You'd need to change faction name, change faction banners and icons, add and remove units, change faction starting position, possibly change character names etc...

If you choose to replace a faction that isn't currently playable their may be more work to do.

Each of those aspects can be done one at a time, which should stop you getting in too much of a mess!
