    Default Supergroups.

    No, not spam.

Who is/was the best supergroup? This is my choice, they don't get much bigger than these guys.

Almost 20 years after they formed and with two band members dead, super group The Traveling Wilburys have scored their first UK number one album.

I bought their first album back in '88. A modern classic. A shame that George and Roy arn't here to see them go to #1.
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

I think I agree with you, IA. TTW was very tongue-in-cheek and they seemed to have a great time working together. On their two albums, they put out some really good songs.

The best super group was the first

    Blind Faith-Sea of Joy (Live)
Blind Faith-Can't Find My Way Home (Live)

Love the Wilburys however. Even have a traveling wilburys guitar autographed

    Looks just like this one

I'm with Greg and IA, I don't think you'll ever find a super-er supergroup than the Travelling Wilburys.

Ah, here's the one I was looking for: Crosby, Stills and Nash, sans Young: Wooden Ships.

(I must admit, I like the Airplane version a lot better, but this ain't bad.)

Well, technically, they were already an amalgamation of good musicians from at least two groups, which means they can be called a supergroup, unless of course all the member have to come from different groups.

Which brings me back to a question I asked earlier in the best band with a female singer and had the greatest back up group ever. So I suppose her and her band also rate as a super group, Im talking of course of probably the greatest voice in rock history. And back then she was a babe

Linda Ronstadt "Desperado" early video..check out this band!

Dammit Gawain, you almost choked me up. That song has a special place, as it represents a very special woman, long gone. Thanks man.

Heres another band that may qualify as a super group and my favorite Canadian band

I saw these guys finally two years ago and they can still bring it. Heres some recent clips from that tour.

THE GUESS WHO NO SUGAR TONIGHT
    Damn can they still rock
The Guess Who - American Woman

If theres any question about the supergroup part its because of Randy Bachman. BTO.

They are from a present perspective only; at the time they were just a bunch of very talented people brought together. Cummings was 16 when he had his first record out. The drummer was a wiz kid - he was playing with Canada's national symphony orchestra (or something to that effect) at a very tender age. Some people argue that they were a "set-up" band made for hits only. It ain't me though.

Past Bachman's era, they evolved into a vehicle for Cummings' expressions - but God they were good.

    And for the non-believers:
