Default What is the base morale boost been given from general?

Since i have find out that how important the effect of morale works on battle field, then i start can use the militia hoplites very well at battlefield,i even using eastern infantry(quite effective against light infantry, just a little difficult against armor infantry=heavy infantry=infantry got 7 armor and above just becoz it's 0.73 lethality,it will be very difficult to against legion 12 armor same as i am using town watch in my Brutii campaign last time) in my armenia campaign.

The star of command just effect the command radius of attack boost(1 attack per 1 command) and morale boost(but how many level of morale?) to the effected troops,
What is the base morale boost been given from general?
(without counting on traits and retinue)

    Hi guneawolf,
I'm not too sure, however, I think that the general provides no benefits should he have no command stars and no traits. Other than that, however, according to the CA at least, it is one point of morale per command star for every unit standing within the general's vicinity. Despite further CA comments, I do not believe that they provide any further bonuses. On the other hand morale boosting traits apply to all troops on the field at any time, regardless of their distance to the commanding officer.

    Hope this helps, cheers!

Contrary to a CA staffer statement, empirical testing by therother in the Ludus Magna implies command does NOT boost attack. This is unlike STW/MTW, where a high command general can transform peasants into tigers. In RTW, they would be brave peasants, but still just peasants.

Its just as well command stars don't influence attack. If so, playing on VH against a 10* General would give all enemy units +17 attack!

but it is not the attack killed your enemy,it is lethality did.The attack only effect your chance of hit(how accurate you will hit your enemy every swing of your weapon).the lethality is the chance of your hit will kill your enemy, and the armor rating decrease the chance from getting killed(lethality),i think....

defense skill decrease the chance of getting hit? shield block the hits directly?

i am thinking does the upgrade of weapon does increase the lethality?
or it just simply increase the attack of units only....

IT IS IMPOSIBLE THAT THE GENERAL COMMAND STAR DIDN'T EFFECT THE ATTACK!
Usually the command star of my general that leading main army always got 5 to 10 star, and mostly the army(mainly militia hoplites) can kill very fast with the general around when against enemy full stack army that without general.
But today i find out that my 3 command star governor being sieged by a 1 command star Dacian general, almost get overwhelm by it's falxmen and warband, luckily that governor is a faction heir, with help of his general bodyguards, finally defeat the Dacian horde, but taking heavy losses,6 militia hoplites only 1 units left more than 100 men.....
Usually 6 units of militia hoplites with a general is enough to take out that Dacian army(without enemy general),but it surprise me when that falxmen take out so many of my MH(militia hoplites)...

and i am thinking that only the phalanxe units got decrease 4 attack from penalty against infantry(since it can change from spears=1.00 lethality to sword=1.00 lethality,a little limitation to it's flexible usage and all round fighting capability, limiting phalanxe units with 1.00 lethality to kill faster),and the boost from general command star increase them, that is why the non-phalanxe unit(eastern infantry, auxilia, libyan spearmen being given so low attacks and 0.73 lethality),and that is why the Greek cities armored hoplites killed so slow when using swordarms(off phalanxe) compare to egyptian desert axemen and roman legions

The phalanxe units being decrease 4 attack limited it's 1.00 lethality to kill infantry,non-phalanxe units like spearmen being given 0.73 lethality to limited it's normal attack. It has prove why the Spartans can't kill those infantry more faster and still can be beaten.Urban cohorts won't have those problem(but cavalry can take them out easily!)
You have to considering that legions got heavy armor to protect them, but being threaten by cavalry. And hoplites have the phalanxe to protect them from cavalry(my experience, that off phalanxe have same kill rate to cavalry too).that is the balance here...

armorur hoplite vs legion, same 1.00 lethality and same value of attack and defense, but legion can beat armoured hoplites, coz armoured hoplites have decrease 4 attack against legion(infantry),legion have higher chance to hit armoured hoplites and kill them.It explains why our hoplites can't fight well on the walls, becoz decrease 4 attack against infantry(hoplites against hastati on the walls, always lose...)

my militia hoplites army with 8 stars generals vs hastati roman army, always win!
that is why i only concerns that the morale boost not the attack,if the militia hoplites dun rout, they can win....except facing enemy heavy infantry base army with 10 star general too...then you are in bad luck....that won't worried me,coz i always get another army of militia hoplites travelling along, they can kill a lot,but they can't defeat me!!
