    Default Muslim battle speeches...

I find them rather lacking. Just a bunch of one-liners and a stark contrast to non-Muslim factions whose speeches have been done absolutely brilliantly.

"Just look at those goat-fondling arse-monkeys! Do they deserve to live?..."

    lol.

I'm sure CA can bring muslim speeches on par with non-muslim ones.

True it is dissapointing i feel it was just a time issue however the muslim nations seem to lack a bit of character.

Even among the non-muslim factions only the starting ones get good speeches... rest are all some simple one-liners.
Some of the one-liners are also really good though.

If I recall, only Portugal, Spain, England, France, HRE, Milan, Venice, Sicily and Byzantium have long speeches. I'm not sure about the Papal states or Hungary. I assume Hungary has those short speeches. Scots get their own set of short speeches. Poland, Denmark and Russia get poor one-liners. I agree that Muslim speeches are the least inspiring.

Most speeches are more like conversations than battle speeches. "As a man of learning I tell you..." Usually I just skip those speeches. I think some of them are trying to reach a humoristic attitude though with little success. I still like some of them. "To a bloody day!" is my (current) favourite.

The one liners are actually pretty freaking funny.

While it's true that some of them are really funny, especially when they take you unawares at the end of a normal speech, few of them are really blood-stirring or awe inspiring, especially when compared to some of Rome ones.

Just FYI, I did write a full set of Islamic (and Scottish, for that matter) generals' speeches, but they never got into the game. This is a pity for two reasons: the Scottish ones were amazingly rude for the most part, and the Islamic ones were actually quite good (although I say this myself). I was actually rather careful to make sure the Muslim speeches were appropriately done (culturally and religiously), too.

As usual, something had to give during the production process, and these were two elements that were dropped.
Gentlemen should exercise caution and wear stout-sided boots when using the Fintry-Kyle Escape Apparatus. Ladies, children, servants and those of a nervous disposition should be strongly encouraged to seek other means of hurried egress.

Captain Fishpants: if you have any say in the patch for Kingdoms, I wonder if you would recommend CA Oz reduce the pre-battke wait before we hear the speeches? I tend to miss most speeches, as the wait is just too long. If they kicked in sooner - as in early TW games - I would hear them out.

Why not add them with a patch or a quick download off of your loader? You guys already did most of the work already.

    Written, not recorded, I assume

If you're going that way, making the speeches run during deployment would be fantastic
