Hi.
After a close check in EB08a v2 EDU, I noticed some strange deviances from the normal values:
In the stat_pri parameters:
All "arrow" equipped units have a Hit Strength attribute of 1, except the Elephant units which have 0.7 and the "Levantine Saggitarius Auxilia" which have 0.321
All "stone" equipped units have the Hit Strength of 1, except the "Accensi" which have 0.26
All "javelin" equipped units have a Hit Strength of 1, except the "Daha Rog Baexdzhyn Aefsad (Daha Tazig)" which have 0.35
All "thrown spear" equipped units have a Swing Speed of 8 or 10, except the "Deaisbard" which have 0.
All "spear" equipped units have a Swing Speed of 0, except the "Gaizaharjoz" which have 10.
In the cavalry "spear" equipped units, which have a Swing Speed of 200, they all have a Hit Strength of 0.4, except the "Baktrioi Hippeis" which have 0.3
In the stat_sec parameters:
In the stat_pri parameters, all "swords" equipped units have a Hit Strength of 0.225 (one-hand) or 0.285 (two-hand), but in the stat_sec parameters, these values vary between 0.1, 0.11, 0.13, 0.165, 0.225 and 0.285
On top of that, the 2 units having 0.285 swords are the "Thrakioi Peltastai" and the "Indian Longbowmen" and its armor-piercing damage!
In example: the Ha'Abbirim Ha'Qdosim Abbirim are armed with an armour-piercing lance of 0.38 Hit Strength, but if cornered in close-range, they only have an armour-piercing sword of 0.1 Hit Strength.
I can find reasons for some of these values:
- The lower Hit Strength in the Elephants' arrows are needed to "force" them into the hand-to-hand fight and not stay behind firing arrows.
- Some of the lower Hit Strength in the weapons' stat_sec parameters are needed to "force" the units to use their stat_pri weapons; or because they use shortsword weapons (skirmishers, etc)
But the rest I think are typpos... Or is there a reason for these exceptions?
BTW, what's the differences between the:
1. Tech Types "simple" and "archery" when using the "thrown" attribute?
2. Tech Types "simple" and "blade" when using a "spear"?
