Slowing down battles

I have found tw2 by far the best of all these games, the balance bwteen economic, religion and military strategy excellent.

However, I feel the battles are almost unplayable due to their speed. Even on the slowest setting I find them 3 or 4 times too fast.

Is there a mod that simply slows the combat, without having to pause the game to make decisions.

Try holding shift while clicking on the speed buttons on your screen. You can go down to a speed of 0.5 or even 0.1 if you feel like it.

Yeah it's not in there because it was added in 1.2

Another method might be to change descr_battle_map_movement_modifiers.txt, to make units to move a bit slower (this way it won't look like everyone is in slow motion).
If you want units to kill each other in a slower rate, you can up defence, or reduce the last value in the weapon stats in EDU (the one that compensates for the animation).

Im very happy with the shitf+click reduce, I dont want to change any game values at this point, although I will be checking out some mods once I am done with the vanilla version - which may be some time!
