Default Fantasy to reality (A 10 star general)

Seeing as recently quite a few people have expressed concerns regarding the ability for player controlled characters/generals to get command stars I decided to post a pic of my own ten (that's right ten! ) star general Theodoros Syriakos aka Antiochus II Theos:

It took A LOT of battles but eventually I seasoned him up enough to get some kickass command traits. Hope this inspires some fellow EB players to work up their own generals to greatness

That is cool. In my Aedui campaign I had this one fammilly member and he also had a 10 command stars (he gained ten at his early thirtees). He was quite a character - he commanded his first battle at 16, and by the time he reached 25 years - he has already seen the elephant. And what is best is that he fougt all over the place - his first battles were against Romans (around Massalia, and Mediolanum) then he fought against Arverni's, then I moved him to Britain and he had couple of battles against Casse - then he conquered Ireland (those two provinces) and recieved the trait High king of Goidils, and then I took him in Hispania and he kicked some Carthagian asses, and recieved trait Devotio Iberica (or something like that).

in my old 7.4 Casse game I got Barae up to ten stars along with some pretty high influence and management.

Some factions may be easier to get command stars with. I've only played one non-Roman campaign with the Casse and got quite a few generals with more than 5 command stars. In over 10 Roman campaigns, I've never managed to do that, no matter how many battles I wage. Perhaps because there are more anti-command traits for them?

I don't think so. It also depends a lot on exactly how intelligent, charismatic and vigourous your generals are. There are six levels of each attribute, but the character scroll shows only the broad trends. The Casse start out with two very intelligent, charismatic generals, and these will gain command stars quickly. Most factions' starting characters aren't quite as good, so they will have more trouble gaining stars.

I've found if I leave Roman generals in a city for any amount of time its a guaranteed -2 Command stars. I've had a 6 star general drop to 3 in just a couple of years. NEVER put generals in towns unless you must.

you're missing the gist of the entire system. your family members dont need command stars in EB. keeping your generals out of cities will keep them from getting certain traits they need

Are you kidding? Always keep them in cities. With the right education building, they become fantastic governors. Even commanders benefit from educational traits in cities.
