Voted Byzantium because Egypt and England start in 2 corners of the map and have access to Crusades/Jihads.

Curious to see how fast you roll over the world from a central starting position and without those Upkeep abolishing steroids.

I predict it will take me 70 turns to meet victory conditions with Byzantium.

Russia, on the other hand, possibly 100 turns.

Being in the middle of a Catholic/Islamic Sandwich can be a ugly place to leave yourself (potentially) exposed.

Perhaps some mistakenly believe that I am a one trick pony... and all I know how to do is exploit the crusade function. I wonder what would happen if I removed the ability to crusade... and played as an Orthodox faction.

I voted Russia.

The Byzantines have access to some tremendous troops early on, and would imo, suit askthepizzaguy's playstyle perfectly.

I think Russia would prove a more interesting thread.

I am halfway through both the Byzantine and Russian campaigns.

Russia: 32 regions turn 50
Byz: 32 regions turn 38

I will be posting both campaigns. Due to Russia's position, I estimate that it takes a good 10 turns to equal the strength of a different faction around turn 1-3.
