Thread: New to EB

    Default New to EB

Just started from a clean install but I got a few questions before I play. I've seen it played before but never started my own game.

I understand about the loading the script on startup but my question is can you play past the 14 AD mark. If yes can you still get the reforms, a friend of mine said he never got the last Roman reform.

From what I saw it looked like all of the enemy generals had around 5 or more command stars and I was wondering why this is? It also looked like some factions had neverending troops.

I usually play with the fog of war off as it annoys me but I was told this crashes the game when you finish turns, is this true?

when testing internal builds we play with FOW off all the time. it will not cause crashes.

EB gives command bonuses to generals to account for the AI's lack of ability.

Neverending troops, I dont quite understand what you mean.

There's a mini mod fixing the AI money assistance script available in the modding forum. It can probably help with the never ending troops problem. You can also tinker with the money script yourself so that the AI gets negative bonuses but i'm not sure what kind of extra bonuses for moeny they may get on hard or very hard. Also, if you don't like rebels you can change the brigand appearance thing in the descr-strat to 9999.

Play a test run campaign or two to get used to things - it's pretty different from other mods or vanilla. (understatement!) You gotta watch your finances - boats especially if you don't need them.

I don't know whether or not you can play after 14 AD, but I do know that you probably won't need to :-). Years last 4 turns now, so it'll take some time before you get there.

yes you cab play past 14 AD but the script will not work so you'll have back 2 turns a year

Trust me you won't need to play past 14 AD. You have 286 years and 1144 turns to win the game. It's more than enough. I'm on year 215 BC on my romani campaign and I already have around 35 regions.

Check the FAQ question thread. Your friend probably didn't get the last reform because he didn't meet the criteria. Remember, the Romans have 3 reforms.
