Wierdest thing that has ever happened to me...

I was testing some stuff out with buttons and what not, decided to be the julii against the gauls. So it was, i chose i good basic historic roman legion, pre-marian, and gave the gauls a healthy choice of men too. I picked 2 gaulic factions agaisnt my 1 roman faction...needless to say it was a tough fight. I trampled over the sissy gauls

,loosing over half of my men in the process

(it was vh difficulty thank you

. It was an amazing fight... so, wanting to brag about it, i saved it. Mind you this happened around 15 min ago..

Anyway i wanted to show my brother and see his awe stricken face as he watched me pummel the Gaulic Barbarians. I load up the clip, and we begin watching.

I APPRENTLY lost the fight in the replay

Does anyone hvae any clue what just happened?

Is it possible that it's a different replay, from a previous battle that was very similar?

If you have modded the game, the results arent the same.

1: no im not lying, and just re-installed my rtw so i only have 3 replays

2:The only mods in place i have are myddraals pbem mod and his 4 turns per year mod but ive been using those forever and never encountered somthing such as this...

hmm. now im completley lost...i played the video yet again (stubborn me) and it was a completley different battle from both the previous ones...is my RTW video thing messed up? For the best description of what is happening, it is almost like the AI are replaying the battle infront of my eyes but there own way...

Replay does not actually record the battle, it saves your troops movements and orders and replays it.

Yes, and its weird seeing a Battle go off a completely different direction despite it being a "Replay"

I had a replay of a custom battle go out of sync recently as well. No idea what caused it. During the deployment phase I was AFK for half an hour, but this entire time was recorded during the replay. Maybe it got too big?

I have had wonky replays before too.

It's funny because it almost always has the same results, wheras you'd think if it was purely 'issuing the same orders' you would tend to get a lot of wonky results for close battles, where several little flukes would be unlikely to go exactly the same way.

But rather than, say, 10% of my replays doing this, it's only ever been 1 or 2.
