Over a millennium ago, in a world of exotic wonder and indescribable beauty, far from the reaches of Western man, there was a great people. A people so fierce and powerful that they are remembered almost as a legend in history; a people whose culture and civilization continue to amaze the modern world. These people were the Inca and this is Inca: Total War.
In Inca Total War you can choose to play as any of the powerful South American and Mesoamerican kingdoms in a war to dominate South America. The world of the Inca is painstakingly reproduced on the all-new campaign map, covering most of South America, Mexico, and Central America. This land is all yours to conquer with over 120 new units. All units have been created using historical references from ancient texts, and modern artifacts; none of the units have been recycled from vanilla RTW or any mods!
In this preview, it is our intention to show off some of the map, a few of the units, and give you an idea of the direction the mod is heading.
ALL PICS SHOWN ARE OF WORKS IN PROGRESS!!
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The 120+ units that will be part of the first release of Inca Total War have all been created from scratch and are not the work of anyone but members of the Inca Total War team. Though very little is known of most of the South American and Mesoamerican faction’s military and dress, the Inca Total War team has put considerable effort into making the unit trees and the appearance of the units as historical as possible. Complete historical accuracy is not possible, but is the aim of the team nonetheless. Currently, nearly all the units have been modeled, and about half of them skinned. The team has been blessed with the exceptional modeling abilities of Melitiros. The most recently completed faction is the Chimu.
The Inca Total War map is being by Ramashan and is currently nearing completion. The map covers most of South America, Central America, and Mexico. When Inca Total War is released, there will be new terrain types, vegetation types, and strat models. The cities and villages on the map are accurate for the mod’s time frame.

Along with a look at various skinned and unskinned models, we will take a closer look at the Chimu unit line. Below are in game shots of certain highlight units.
Hope you enjoyed the preview, I will be posting more pics of the map in a little while.
If you'd like to show your support for Inca Total War, please add this to your sig. :)
Inca Total War is moving along faster than ever, but we are still in need of a 2-d artist, coders, and another skinner. If you would like to join, please post on the "Join us" thread in this forum!
This does look very promising. I'll be sure to pick up a download of this when it comes out. One of my best buddies is from this area and I'll let him know about this mod as well, he'll love it!

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I am only the skinner. The models have been done by Melitiros. He is new to RTW like most of the team, but very talented.
Vuk
we will do anything possible to have a release this year, but we really need a skinner or two. We have finished modelling the units, we got more than half the map, we have started modeling the buildings, we got people working on the 2d area, we have started some scripting and some coding but we really NEED A SKINNER. Anyaone with skills, who wants to see this mod released please apply for the job, help is needed!!!
Yes exactly, it's not dead at all. Team members leaving, real life, unexpected errors,... are all things beginning modders don't think of when starting.
I don't think it's out yet but I'm pretty sure the mod's not dead, just moving at a slow pace. The team is still active over at the Total War Center I believe.

Yea, I'm pretty sure they've stopped checking this forum (as well as the proboards one), I think they're heading towards a Beta release soon :)
On an unrelated topic, Jacob's post (I know its from back in '09) made me laugh :D I think every year I was a part of it we were looking at a Christmas release :) Let's hope this is the year ;)
