Alienware sounds good. However, I wonder: I vaguely recall having heard tell it was bought another company.

I bought my woman a Toshiba laptop and so far it's working very well. Nice screen but very weak sound. Good with speakers, though. More of an office machine.

Bijo heard right: Alienware was bought by Dell.Originally Posted by Bijo

My Alienware laptop (almost 3 years old) is still chugging along these days, handling games up to (but not including) graphics as advanced as for F.E.A.R..
But Jason's is packed so full of heat-generating components, that they're failing at an alaming rate. The HD twice, Vid-card 3 times, mobo once, and this last time, after installing a 'new' vid card, it won't even boot into Windows. Therefore = $3,000 paperweight.
So my advice: shop around.
Be well. Do good. Keep in touch.
Dell, you say? Hmmm, I recall having had an old Dell desktop. It was a Pentium III I think. Very good machine.[/offtopic]
But what I read about Alienware is certainly not good. Is Jkarinen still even reading the thread? Suppose he's already bought one and comes back to read this, heh heh.
