    Default Spain vs mongols

I've got a little challenge for someone who likes to fight mongols, just let me know if you'd like the savegame:

Spain has prospered under numerous kings, the spanish penisuela and the middle east are more or less under spanish control. However, the spanish faces the greatest threat of them all; an eastern people has moved in and are attacking spanish assets in the middle east. These devils on horsebacks are called "Mongols".

King Rodrigo the Scarred takes the fight to the mongols. His summons throughout the land calls all men, young and old to the fight against the devils. 4 armies set out, under the joint leadership of King Rodrigo the Scarred. The armies are led by: Alfredo Ferrandes, Val the Wrathful, Prince Alfredo the Cuckold and of course the his Majesty, the King.

King Rodrigo and his generals fight battle after battle and slowly but surely pushes the Mongol invasion to a grinding halt. King Rodrigo sees his oppertunity for a strike and drives the mongols back eastward.

Forces severely weakened, but victorious, King Rodrigo and his generals fall back to Castle Aleppo and the Fortress of Acre to retrain their troops and prepare for more fighting, as King Rodrigo is sure the Mongols will return, and in greater numbers.

On the way back, old age finally catches up with King Rodrigo, who dies on his way to Castle Aleppo. His subjects mouring, they turn to Prince Alfredo the Cuckold, who is crowned king in the middle of the desert.

King Alfredo the Cuckold however, is not a great leader. He keeps his generals around Castle Aleppo and the Fortress of Acre, and doesn't take the fight to the Mongols. King Rodrigo, blessed be his name, had been correct. Spu Concalo Mendez reports of a huge force of Mongols approaching.

Years pass by and the Mongols approach. King Alfredo stays in Aleppo and is confounded over what to do. He sends for Prince Agosto, and sends him to Acre to train up a new army.

Old age catches up with King Alfredo, and he dies, 6 years after King Rodrigo. His only son, Prince Agosto, age 29, takes the crown.

Fed up with his fathers reluctance to fight, King Agosto sets out to destroy the Mongols, and drive them back into the east.

You will have control of very huge forces. All Cavalry armies, all infantry, and mixed armies are stationed around Aleppo, so you will have plenty of choice to how to fight the Mongols. The economy is stable, earning loads of cash each turn, but using just as much on buildings and retraining troops.

If you don't care about building, drop it and you will have loads of cash to use.

The Capital is Jerusalem, so there is a little unrest in Spain. Nothing you can't handle, however.

The family is strong, so even if you are pushed out of the middle east there are many family members in spain as well. These can of course be used to re-inforce the middle east if that is what you want as well. You have a few enemies and a few allies, but mostly everyone leaves you alone (except the Mongols)

It's Medieval 2 Total war Vanilla, 1.2. Difficulty should be M/H

It looks very interesting mate so thanks for putting this on. Nothing for me though, I never play scenario's and barely have enough time to play a campaign myself.'Played 15 turns with the English now in 2 weeks

It would be interesting to hear about other players experiences though. To me this scenario seems quite easy, but hey who am I, not yet have I had the pleasure of fighting the Mongols

just a better reason for you to try, qui?

The Mongols are *never* easy. They arrive in three waves. I've defeated the first wave, this is the second, there will be a third. And then, there's the timurids later.

Part of the reason I made this is for ppl who either never get to the mongols, or have problems fighting them. It's ideal practice
