    Default Mines?

    Hi all, another question.

In my current game as Armenia (although the constant CTD around the same battle might end it prematurely and just as I'm about to capture Antioch :( ) I've done this: I captured Edessa and Antioch, and since I knew I couldnt hold them I burnt everything down to the ground + exterminated the population. In total that made me about 32k. I decided to invest that money into mines since according to the little description each mine is suppose to add +2000 to my income. Yet lo and behold, after all three are completed all I get is an extra 800 from mines and another 200 per city from the cities where they are built. That is about half of the income I expected. Is the description of the mines just wrong or is this a bug? If I'd know that that would have happened I would have just bought a billion horse archers and finished the Selucids instead of trying to build up...

Mines don't produce the amount they say they do. This is a RTW bug. They have been balanced for the amount they actually give and everything is ok with them. You just have to look at settlement details to know how much you are making, not the building details.

Have you tried downloading the trait typo fix? There was a typo that caused problems for Hayasdan and may be what is causing your crash.

More precisely, the Getai, it just seemed to be Hayasdan so we called it that... But that was an AI turn CTD, not a battle one.

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

Ah. I wish I had known that....

as for the CTD. No I dont have any mods ontop of the EB mod. The crash keeps happening after a bridge battle where I whipe out the same army. I'm thinking that next time I'll just withdraw and see if it happens on a different battlefield...

On a side note, since I assumed the mines are the money maker for Hayasdan, how are you suppose to make money when your biggest city has like 5000 people or so and its also bleeding money to support troops?

My bad, wrong type of bug. None the less, everyone should download that typo fix, and thank bovi for all his work while you're at it.

Hayasdan is very difficult to play. I had to conquer all of the Armenia area and Asia/Anatolia before I was able to even build buildings in all my towns every turn. My advice would be garrison light and pray you aren't attacked from multiple sides.

But the mines ARE the money-maker. And if you combine mines with ports and city enslavement or extermination, then you should be greatly satisfied. It's also a good idea to send spies to nearby cities and attack the ones with mines. Personally I even think that the mines are overpowered in EB Vanilla and I decreased their attributes in export_descr_buildings.txt to 30 for the standard mines and 70 for the deep ones, but maybe that's just me...
