Thread: A couple Casse questions

    Default A couple Casse questions

    1. Are they the only faction that can receive weapons/armor upgrades through a certain temple?

    2. Are the General's bodyguards always with the chariots? I will be saddened if so. It just feels like after a reform, they could start using Swordmasters or Late Champions. Those are the guys who should be defending Generals.

Hmm, I think the reform I idea isn't too bad. I too dislike the chariots. But unfortunately, no they are in chairots from 272 BC to 14 AD.

Can't answer the first one because i've never played Casse very seriously, but perhaps you could try higher level cities to see if they blacksmith-type structures.

Am I to take that Casse can get weapon-upgrades from a temple building? Is it the Gobannon one?

Because if it is...I'm in luck.

I heard an EB member mention at one point that the team didn't like the magical upgraded weapons coming from temples and religious buildings. So I don't know if it's an overcite, or if maybe Casse do get blacksmith structures.

I on the other hand don't think it as magical, considering it wouldn't be that implausible that smithing-god devotees would know a thing or two about metalwork. Still, I think it would be far better to have the third weapon upgrade(gold) tied to areas that were historically known for their good iron, like Noricum or Amaseia. Maybe make it tied to map regions with iron mine or iron smelting(is there one?) icons, like gold and silver mines are tied to mineral veins.

But I don't know. I'll check the Casse building browser once I load my game.

Weapon/Armor upgrades have the ability to unbalance the stats. They are kept to a bare minimum in EB.

There was talk of giving the Casse foot generals, especially before the chariot stats were fixed.

It is the temple that has three names (if you go to the building browser scroll, you can see that on the third stage of development, all troops get shiny golden shield... meaning upgraded). So this would cause a lot of the unbalancing.

I discovered it playing as the Casse and loved it. All my towns devoted themselves to this temple and I was invincible.

And yet when I decided to invade with a full stack of Roman troops, I got wiped.

Öhmm, it's a shame to question this, but I never had the chance to get more than one weapon/armour upgrade (blacksmith, playing Greek factions). Where can I get the other upgrades (silver and gold)?
In my recent Epiros campaign, after Taras revolted against the Romans, I suddently had 6 units with gold weapon upgrades - never seen this before in EB. I thought only one upgrade was possible.

Rebellions routinely break any rules we set up, occasionally even joining for instance parthian and lusotannan units in an arabian settlement. It also creates units with insane upgrades and experience. If you can see a way to work around it, we'd love to hear it.

Ok, that means, also other than Greek factions (never played one for long) cannot get silber and gold upgrades through buildings? That is good news because the idea of these upgrades in vanilla TW was fun but also a bit strange in a historical sense.
