I've heard a lot about the introduction of this technology at a price people can afford. Couldn't find anything on the price though.

In other awesome news, i heard that 3d printers like this might be compatible with Spore i.e you can print off models of your creatures.

$4,995 is a start. The price wasn't mentioned 15 years ago, there were some extra digits I guess.

Fascinating...

I guess that it will spread slowly, due to the huge technical difficulties, There are already CNC machines which are very very capable which can form a far greater spectrum of materials though....

But of course this type of "printer" may be in a class of its own concerning complex structures.
