    I was just playing a castle seige level.... I had an archer and a muskateer unit garrisonned. They were right up against the wall, and fired hordes or arows and bullets into the opposing troops.... However, the didn't kill one!!! Why?

    Well the guns don't have an arc- so their bullets we probably pelting a hole in your castle wall As to the archers, were they right up against the wall or back aways? Maybe they too couldn't get the arc to clear the walls

    So how do you effictivley defend a castle from the inside? And how do you send troops out/in the castle.... IE: f I'm seigin, how do I enter?

    hello jas142,

    You're talking about the siege mod? There are some monks inside the castle...
    I played the mod too, the archers/muskets can do some damage.

    hello jas 142,

    you can't send troops in and out in the demo: the gate is closed.

    Inside defend: there are some naginata inside the castle, also the archers can do melee combat.

    Castles are guff, for a number of reasons that have been discussed many times here and on the official site....

    I hope they sort 'em out in 1.13

    I agree - castles are severely busted. I especially despise it, when the ai retreats their daimyo to a castle - that should NEVER happen I hate it when a side gets rubbed out just because the ai is dumb. Don't you agree ? I only retreat to the castle if I have a small garrison force in the region, with a large strategic reserve in a neighbouring (sp?) province.

    What's goofass to me is the way that when I am under siege (as the original poster described), your muck-ups can't fire out of the castle walls - HOW?Ever The AI forces somehow manage to shoot the pants and ear-rings off of my monks and yari from 500 yards out - from withing the walls of a castle - hugging the blasted wall no less.

    Someone needs to implement the rest of the nifty siege equipment that WAS present at the time - ie - cannons, grenades, fire, oil, ahem!

    Then we'll see how things shape up for those campers!

    Is this only a problem in Campaign mode? Just the demo? In Custom Battle, I have no problem shooting through walls.

    The whole castle siege thing seems to me like something that was tagged on at the last minute, or at least late on in the development process. There is NO WAY that these sieges are in any way realistic or do any real justice to what the battles would have been like in reality.

    However if the AI is able to shoot through walls and human players are not, that is a bug and should be fixed in a patch. I generally don't play castle sieges but auto-resolve them or relieve the castle with another army invading the province.
