nazi expanionalism is only one form. there are many other unions and nations that are doing the same thing right now under the hand. even military force is used to promote this kind of expanionism. in example the war in yugoslavia.

Please cease with the discussion of nazism, either in-game or in relation to this thread title. It is pointless and off-topic.
Cleaning will reopen soon.

Is it worth to ask what this thread is about and why it is in the noble monastry?
Nah. It started out as a normal thread but someone mentioned the N-a-z-i word, so it had to be censored and buried.
It's in the monastery for spiritual healing and enlightenment, of course.

It's not specifically everything Nazi that is being banned, I think we're not the Paradox forums, though I can kind of see why they do that over there considering their game topics, WWII and all , but rather the potential flame war by a random Nazi reference. Not to hurt anyone's feeling but I always thought that "Nazi" isn't such an appropriate allusion for megalomaniac warmongering anyway (which seems to be what this guild demands of the monarch in the game) as it contains allusions to a vastly broader viewpoint (and very much less understandable) than just expansionism. Scratching that, since this is a Monastery topic now, I must ask one of the monks around here if they know anything of an example of a historical "explorer's guild?"Originally Posted by askthepizzaguy
I always thought that exploring has always been the stuff of air-headed adventurers backed up by filthy rich people -- usually monarchs, or some Italian bankers -- and not a Medieval guild style organized effort.
The only thing closest to a "guild" I could think of right now is Henry the Navigator's school for naval-something in Portugal, and even then it's a prince's effort.
As for the "merchants hungry for wealth (by conquest)" that is put forth as a potential explanation for the explorer guild's behavior, I personally thought that it should've been represented by the merchant's guild missions really. It's not like the Venetians in the Fourth Crusade -- the most prominent example of hungry evil merchants doing that stuff that I could think of -- are doing that for their explorer's guild...
