Default Games for a friend of mine

Just recently a friend of mine got a new computer, and has decided that he now needs to catch up on years of lost gaming time, so i come to you, .org, for advice on what games he should get. He mostly enjoys FPS's, and wants the best of the best. So far he's got S.T.A.L.K.E.R and HL2, and will soon be getting BF2.

Flawed as it may be, FEAR has the best combat ever. It's also repetitive and a bit brutal at times. There are many reasons to dislike Vin Diesel, The Riddick game isn't one of them, absolute quality, nothing like it. Both should be pretty cheap now. Can't go wrong with Painkiller, also cheap, very satisfying combat and truly inspired weapons, especially the Painkiller itselve is pure genius. Great towering bosses as well, beating them is kinda zelda-esque.

3 different types of shooters, all worth it.

If he's a FPS fan, he should definitely play Far Cry as well.

    Or Crysis.

Since when has that been released ?

Far Cry is just about the only 'new' fps I could recommend.

Bioshock looks nice and isn't far from being released.

Nevertheless, it is a game to be considered.
