    Default Rtw 2

Wouldnt it be better to wait with EB2 till Rome 2 total war(its in developement right now)? Or will you make EB3?

Well, firstly RTW2 is at least two years away, plus another year or so for CA to remove most of the worst bugs and open up its modding capabilities.

So I think that is probably a bad idea to wait that long!

Rumour and speculation as requested. Seems to be just some vague mention that a Sega rep let slip in an interview.

R2TW isn't official..yet. I'm assuming well hear something about the next TW game (what ever it may be) sometime after Kingdoms is released.

Ähm, now as we know about Empires: is RTW2 another project? I can't believe...

(later chorus -containing a wrong regimental name for the Bayreuth-Dragoner (DR Nr. 5) - of the "Hohenfriedberger Marsch", reminiscense of a battle in 1745 AD, to the music perhaps of an earlier cuirassier march)

The quote from the SEGA rep was true in that Empire is being made by the Rome: TW team, so it is the follow up to Rome.

    Well, that's highly misleading. :P

So, there is no R2:TW in the works? I admit doing the same thing you did with Medieval right away would lack a certain originality, maybe, but I hope you guys revisit the time period again in the future.

    Personally, I'd rather see a S2:TW, first.

Well, two years is really an infinitesimal time to wait, considering the cosmic timescale we've been waiting on for EB 1.0... ;-)

Just how long have you been waiting, anyway? I know I know, the answer is since birth . But when were you introduced to EB? I entered at 0.74 myself.

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

I got EB just yesterday (got the latest version)

actually I bought RTW: Anthology (with BI & Alexander) yesterday too
so have been playing about, and testing the campaign a bit, mainly though doing some custom battles, seeing the different units and factions.

    A week before I bought M2TW

and few months before I got from the budget section MTW Gold (with VI)

I enjoy them all, all have their own advantages and disadvantages (also to do with personal preferences and tastes)

but I've got tons of gaming (mainly campaigns) to do.

btw when I try to click on 'Regional Campaigns' in EB, I have nothing to click on when I trick to click the accept button (nothing is listed)

I guess that's not supposed to work? EB's main campaign seems to be fine so far though

I was wondering that, too. I hadn't noticed it in 7x. I figured it was a placeholder for future features.

IIRC, it was mentioned internally a while back. I think it is just a mistake and will not be there in the next release.

I think Empire: Total War is the next game that is planned to come out. Anyway, what would be the point of making a second RTW? M2TW was made to incorporate the engine used in RTW into the game.

By the time the thread was started ETW hadn't been announced.
Anyways I'm not sure if an ancient mod with the ETW engine would work too well.

The Lordz couldn't get the AI to work satisfactorily for a Napoleonic era mod because it always applied ancient tactics and unless you can edit the AI in ETW, you'd have the exact same problem only with switched roles.

A napoleonic mod succeeded with M:TW, and that was largely based on melee combat.

I think it might be doable, but we'll have to wait and see.

Considering they haven't even ported over to Kingdoms yet (EB2), I assume this won't be an issue for at least 3 years....maybe longer.
