some people have solved that problem by muteing the sound or turning down the sound quality in the options. and from what i gather from other people, its not your computer.

the dev guys know about the sound thing and have assured us, through darkmoor, i think it was, that it will be fixed come final release.
as for the rest of your lag in the final battle, turn off smoke, dust, birds, or any of the other little detail things in the options. this shld help.
