    Have you just been dumped?

I ask because it's usually something like that which causes outbursts like this, needless to say I dissagree completely.

Just think how many Mexican labourers would be employed to build that wall! If they make it shoddy enough they'll get hired for the maintenance crews as well.

    This is borderline absurd.

We can put air holes in the fence for the pollen to migrate north and south and to allow creatures on the Mexican side to breath. We can put pet doors in the fence for the animals. As far as insects go, since when has anything man built stopped a bug? For water, we can build some water taps into the Mexican side of the fence in case anyone on that side gets thirsty or they need to water their country.

Now that I've solved that problem...

Well I did hear from my vet that it will hinder migratory species in the region, other than Mexicans trying to get to the US, but I'm really not very well informed on that whole side to it. There are definitely better reasons to be against the wall.

Heheh, the Mongols said the same about the Great Wall, unluckely for them the people weren't that concerned with the well-being of planet Earth.

Next to that, a wall to stop immigrant is sad anyway, but that's another discussion.

    It's a waste of ... tandandan ... taxpayer's money for political stunt.

Slyspy said it right: Fences are borderline useless except providing jobs for the poor Mexicans. I'd support it if they're gonna be making a marble wall with frescos and mosaics and sculptures and all that jazz though. May be a put on a slight experimental touch on the art nouveau style and cha-ching, culturally significant 1000 miles structure, with mass lefty support from the artiste & academia camp!

Nice idea making the wall a cultural thing Antiochus, but it won't happen. We know American politicians have already lost all their marble.

Well if they were going to do it Reasonably, they'd Put in two fences, One Fence on the Border, Heavily Land Mine behind the First Fence, and then say 5km north of the first fence build another fence. If they make it through, Congrats! If Not... well... But, I don't support the idea of the fence anyways, I say any Americans with common sense would just annex Mexico and be done with the trivial Immigration fiasco altogether.

The zimmerman note and Pancho Villa were our last legitimate opportunities to invade Mexico. Perhaps if it wasn't for the whole slave state or not issue we might have taken more of Mexico (Veracruz?) in 1848.

Four stage strategy from Yes, Minister:
Stage one we say nothing is going to happen.
Stage two, we say something may be about to happen, but we should do nothing about it.
Stage three, we say that maybe we should do something about it, but there's nothing we can do.
Stage four, we say maybe there was something we could have done, but it's too late now.

We just need Wallker, Texas Ranger on the job. He'd just Chuck all illegal immigrants back over the border.

My apologies if this (roundhouse) kicks off a flurry of Chuck Norris jokes.
