Noob question about Spartiates and Elephants.

Hi, i wanna know how do you recruit these two units? i searched the forums and read something about a MIC but i dont even know what that is?? and for elephants since there is no elephant resource how would you know where they can be recruited?
help would be greatly appreciated.

oh and i also have a suggestion, i took a look at the Artwork on the main site and it looks brilliant, in my opinion those would be great to go into the game as loading screens instead of the 3d models and it would mean they wouldnt be waisted as such.

Only the KH can get Spartans in Sparta. You need MIC level 5 to get them.

For the elephants they can be recruited deep in Africa (where Carthege is) or by India. not sure what provinces though.

An MIC is a Military-Industrial Complex (I think?), that is to say, it represents the system of recruitment, training, and providing weaponry for the troops. In vanilla this was represented by the barracks, stables, and archeries, usual RTS fare; in EB it is represented by two "buildings" per city: one for factional units (look for "barracks-like" buildings in your building menu, the building descriptions should provide you with all the details you need) and another for "regional" units. The government type in that province, and the location of that province, will dictate what units you can recruit in those MIC's. Building a "factional" MIC in a faraway "Alliances" province is an exercise in futility, and likewise for "regional" MIC's in the capital.

Like Neospartan said, only the Koinon Hellenon faction can get Spartans and only at the factional MIC level 5 built in Sparta. They don't come cheap.

I'm not sure about elephants, but I've seen them around Africa and the Indus provinces (easternmost in the map). Never used them much in EB really, waaaay too expensive. I save my precious for the ships.

Hello there,

if you want to recruit Elephants and not play Carthage or AS or Baktria, then take a look at Epiros. They can recruit Elephants in their capital (> 10,000 mnai

).
BTW, they start with one unit of them and that unit eats about 20-30 % of your military expences.

But they are VERY valuable, if you want to "blitz" Macedonia ...
