    Default Pillaging cities

Is there anyway to pillage a city without conquoring it and making part of your empire? I just want to put them to the sword and sell them all into slavery.

Last time I tried I destroyed what I could, exterminated the populus and left. Then it revolted back to the Averni and made me at war with my only ally.

You can gift a city to another faction. After you've destroyed it, get your army out and gift it to an ally through the diplomacy scroll.

I think gifting only works if the faction has a border to the province.

RTW, 167 BC: Rome expels Greek philosophers after the Lex Fannia law is passed. This bans the effete and nasty Greek practice of 'philosophy' in favour of more manly, properly Roman pursuits that don't involve quite so much thinking.

To gift a city to another faction, offer them the city and a financial gift, I use 10k usually. Anything else doesn't matter. You can be at war with them for all they care.
