Thread: Return of Alexander´s corpse to Pella

Default Return of Alexander´s corpse to Pella

In my Macedonian campaign I snatched away Alexandria from the Ptolemaeics by a fulgurous irruption by sea. I occupied this town for 2 turns and then made it a gift to my Carthagian Allies because my army was not strong enough to face the 8 Ptolemaeic full-stack armies which moved towards my position.
During my occupation I demolished the gravesite of Alexander the Great, waited one turn for packing Alexander´s corpse and then sailed away towards Pella with my general who conquered Alexandria.
In Pella I waited again one turn for unpacking Alexander´s corpse and then moved my general back to his army by sea.
However, there was no effect for the “return” of Alexander to his homelands. No notice, no morale effect... nothing. Is this usual or a defect in my game?

Kind of cool for role-play purpose, but there should be some moral bonus.
I heard it was not possible with the engine of RTW.
Can you do this travel also as Romans, or is it only for Macedonians?

Your general's last name should of changed. I don't quite remember what his name should of changed to, also you should see a corresponding trait which gives you some sort of bonus. I've only done it once myself with Seleuceia.

I never bother with destroying that tomb anyway. I just presume 'my Seleukids' are 'above that sort of desacration'. I know, it's naieve, it's anachronistic - but hey I can always pretend.

My real reason though, is that I prefer an 'eternal' monument over a character that is about to die within half a century or so anyway.

Your general should have gotten a trait saying he had Alexander the turn after you destroyed the tomb.

For some reason this 'quest' doesn't always work. I've never try it myself, so I don't really know the details.

you should spawn a building or somthing in Pella along with the trait giving a morale bonus to troops since their greatest general's body has been returned they are prly more confident.

Maybe it should also be able to go to Antioch/(forgot name of the other Capital)
    aswell... hm.

It's broken in 1.5 due to scripting error. It will be in EB2. You can only do it as makedonia/seleukia, when it worked.

There are 15 missions and other special events in the internal build, 10 in the current public one. Not sure how many work as intended yet in either.

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.
