Thread: Query regarding Lusitania

    Default Query regarding Lusitania

    Hi

My query relates to the structure of the building hierachy for lusitanians.

Have been playing them for nearly fourty years now.

Conquered all Spain, lower half of France. Now in a big war with Rome fighting endless stacks in SE france, Masalia, (beatten 20+ stacks now)

My citys are all between 11-16000 strong type 3/4/5 governments but there seems to be a real problem with sanitation.

Is this by design as, with all buildings available built except major port complexs, no more than 2 or 3 units and a govenor in almost all towns......they are all in decline population wise.

The generals seem to have few beneficial large population management traits (probably correctly) but there is nothing i can see you can do building wise to at least get this on an even keel.

Im loosing interest in the campaign which is a shame really.

Are the Lusitanians supposed to have this issue?

Type 5 government? No such thing exists. Yes, sanitation is a big issue which all factions must deal with. If this, along with the minor population decline are making you lose interest in the campaign, either try a new faction, or a new game.

    Hello there,

take a look at the "City mod" in the "sub-mod forum". It prevents most of your cities to grow into ungovernable metropolises (spelling / declining ).
After I've downloaded & installed it, I could even play my 'old games' with it (though they were only around 250 bc).

    Yours,

Towards the end of the book, the Moties quote an old story from Herodotus:

"Once there was a thief who was to be executed. As he was taken away he made a bargain with the king: In one year he would teach the king's favorite horse to sing hymns."
"The other prisoners watched the thief singing to the horse and laughed. 'You will not succeed,' they told him. 'No one can.' To which the thief replied, 'I have a year, and who knows what will happen in that time. The king might die. The horse might die. I might die. And perhaps the horse will learn to sing.'"

    Default AW: Query regarding Lusitania

I understood that he wasn't complaining about cities growing too large, but cities shrinking.

Well, shrinking isn't the worst, believe me. I recommend to build Aquaeducts, if they are available for Lusitanians. Just take a look in the buildings description, they tell you which building increases population growth. Generally buildings that reduce squalor reduce unrest as well.

Not a complaint at all....far from it :)

This is just a query - as I like problem solving and have spent a lot of time looking at the generals traits and faction building descriptions for this faction to try and solve this.

And as mentioned......I've built all the buildings available. No aquaducts available

It may be that I'm just unlucky with the way this campaign is developing. Which is a shame because they are a great faction to play......they chew the romans up :)

I've tried most the factions bar the big three (AS, Roma, Egypt) and enjoyed them all greatly.....maybe I will try one of those....thanks for the feedback.....

I was wondering if there was something I've missed.....doesnt look like there is.

(I'm trying not to include too many mods, aklready using the AI and Merc mods which are great.....kudos to the guys who developed them.)

    Thanks team.

Barbarians can't build city level HUGE for some stupid reason :P
So their cities are a horrible mess of squalor.
