There's no need, the bad version isn't linked to on either site, dvk restored the link to the 1.10a version of the full installer which worked.

did a re-install of R:TW and everything, it works. PS. where do screenshots go after you take them, in the R:TW folder?

If you're lucky in the TGAS folder (either in the Rome directory or the data directory), if you are unlucky then you'll have them in your clipboard, so you should open up Microsoft Paint, create a new image and paste the SS into the new image.
