My first win with more than 10:1 ratio

OMG, this is the first time I pull-off such a favorable win ratio. Most of the time, I win with 3:1/4:1/2:1 or even 1:1 ration. The enemy is mostly peasant, and some mounted sergeants. I had 4 horse archers (turcoman & steppe) plus about 2 turcoman foots. The hills make a big different, as the arrow is more effective, then the enemy just broke climbing the hill under whithering fire. After a while, I move my horse archers behind them and start to rush close in, while having the JHI charge down. That did it for the first groups, and the enemy general. Later wave just try to chase the HA and get captured

Good job! However, I must say one thing, though: peasants are absolutely god awful. Especially in comparison to your excellent troop roster, and the fact that you seem to have had a good general and you were defending. I'm not trying to be a party pooper, because that ratio is indeed excellent, its just that you had such a massive advantage on them that it hardly surprises me.

I think my best ratio was probably around 5:1. What faction was it that you so easily crushed?

BTW, dknight, your win ratio in the battle above is actually something like 41.23076923:1. My first battle where I clearly achieved a 10:1 victory was after slaughtering some rebels in Livonia as the Danes long ago, although the pic remains somewhere in the Pics & history of your empire thread. Interestingly enough it was a perfect 10:1 victory, 69 casualties sustained, 690 casualties inflicted. I was rather horrible at fighting back then so I must've been in a way superior position.

Hehehe... I don't mind your reminding of balance of force, greaterkhaan. I am just excited because this is the first time I had such a favorable ratio. I am really not good with the battle, as I often get into hand-to-hand dirty fighting before my archer can do enough damage. Even in this one, my JHI had to get into quite an unfavorable fight for a while, what with several units of peasan and guards attack the flank of my charging JHI. They even have 3 mounted sergeans charging in as well, one of them the generals. That's where most of the damage occurs.

@Brave_Sir_Robin: this is against a Portuguese rebellion. My general is the leading general for this front, who just happen to be nearby. I actually had the largest army, but most of them stucked at containing the Golden Horde, and I am having some trouble with my economy, so there aren't more JHI, and the available JHI aren't even properly armored.

Nice victory dknight, even if it was over mostly peasant rabble. You know what they say -- a win is a win. Heck, I doubt I myself have ever achieved even a 5-to-1 victory; I'm not a very good field commander, so my victories usually aren't that lopsided.
