I was going to participate in the older one too, but the "manager" sort of never came back.
I'll play in this one too, either faction.

Good. Do you have a preference?

I took a quick look at that King of the Romans AAR.It looked interesting,so I wouldn't mind trying one of these. However it would be my first one,so I might be a little off at first. But I'll get my act together, eventually.
Oh,and I'd prefer KH,though Carthage wouldn't be too bad.
Can you guys please explain to me what the succession role-play means? It all sounds very interesting but I don't know whats going on. Thanks. :)

That should give you an idea of what should happen.Don't worry about it though. It'll be my first time doing one too.I'm sure the kinks will get smoothed out eventually.
I would also prefer KH, ahistorical as that faction may be.Originally Posted by KuKulzA

I was thinking that if we choose the KH, we'll assign players to different families, and players without characters in the beginning could play influential citizens, senators, whatever from that city. I'm fairly certain that KH has four family members in the beginning (but could be wrong). Two Lakedaemonians, one Attikos, and one Rhodios (unfortunately, he dies shortly after the game start, often 7-8 years before his son comes of age). If we have more than four players in the beginning, we'll distribute them accordingly amongst the families, and once a character comes of age, is adopted, etc. into that family the next player in line (decided by the order in which people sign up) would recieve his new character.
Now, about faction leaders. We'll likely be ignoring the faction leader trait for roleplaying purposes. We'll have a council that will elect leaders for however many years, and the player with that character will run the game. Detailed write-ups on the state of affairs will be helpful for the players who aren't currently playing the game. A "council" can be held every so often, so the different families can debate different things.
If a players character is involved in a battle, the player currently in power will save the game and send it along to the player who's controlling that general. That player will play out the battle, save the file, and send it back. A detailed write up of the battle is helpful.
I'll wait a few more days to see what kind of interest there is, and then we can finalize things like factions, mods, assign characters etc.
Sorry for the longwinded post.
EDIT: Of course, most of these things could be applied to Karthadastim so if more people prefer them, that would be fine.

I would like to participate in this. I very much appreciate the KH idea, so that's the faction I would choose. I'd like the rodian position, but as this guy dies very early.... well, we'll figure out how this should work I guess..![]()

wow, very cool!
Well my favorite factions go in this order:
Saka Rauka
Getai
Lusotana
Safot Softim biQarthadast
Casse (maybe)
A little disappointed that this is more of a Koinon Hellenon preference, not a huge fan of the Greeks myself. Though I do like the sound of playing the Carthaginians.... I've been playing Casse, Saka, and Getai recently so if I am allowed in on this, I'll have to look into all the special stuff related to Kart-hadast.
