Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.
A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
Not a bad little preview, certainly keeps wetting the appetite as we wait for Kingdoms to land!

I don't know. So far it seems the more I learn about Kingdoms the more "eh" I get about it. The mini-campaigns are cool, but if it doesn't really change the main game I don't know if it would be worth the price of admission. Maybe if they made them fairly cheap downloadable add-ons with a patch that gave new balance features and all the mod-making features.
Inhale, exhale
Forward, back
Living, dying:
Arrows, let flown each to each
Meet midway and slice
The void in aimless flight

Thus I return to the source.
Oil!!! Finally oil at the gates:
"If your fortresses are advanced enough, they can rain down boiling oil on those pesky troops using a ram at your gates."
they never used oil... bleugh...
whats that? no way they had cannons in those days... so better tell me its something else... they were infantry right?Canons of the Holy Sepulchre

Pretend it's sand. Hot sand. You know, the stuff that people actually poured on besiegers?Originally Posted by The Stranger
Pouring boiling oil would be about as smart as using molten gold, nowadays. Oil is just far too expensive in medieval Europe to be pouring gallons of it on the ground.
Sand, on the other hand, is actually far worse than oil, when heated, and plentiful.
yup... im burned by oil... on my arm... and it took an hour actually to really burn... it takes longer and does less damage than water or sand.
We do not sow.
go check totalwar.com in new units section ;)Originally Posted by The Stranger
Canon as in a member of a chapter, or a monk. Reinstating oil might be unbalancing methinks.Originally Posted by The Stranger
