How is it possible to play rtw in a small window which cuts out the loading screens when tabing from the game to here and back?

You should add -nm -ne to your shortcut's launch line, I think.
Norman Invasion - The fate of England lies in your hands...
Viking Invasion II - Unite Britain in the best TW campaign ever!
Gods and Fighting Men: Total War - Enter the Mists of Myth in Ancient Ireland
So it looks like the following?
"C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -nm -ne in the target bar? or the shortcut key?
"C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -nm -ne"
Norman Invasion - The fate of England lies in your hands...

Gods and Fighting Men: Total War - Enter the Mists of Myth in Ancient Ireland
So that goes in the target bar?
Yes, in the target bar. Sorry for the muliple posts, I should have been clearer.

Thats fine its mainly due to my ignorance. I cant find a thread on it here, only on twcentre where I cant post. S basically now when I play it, it will be half screen?
Also, there is a option in Video Options (I've never tried it) that says Widescreen.
This is maybe the option you are looking for.
Cheers

I wondered what that did, thanks both of you.
I'm still having problems. This is what I have typed in:
"C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -nm -ne"
It cuts the loading screens but it is still full window. Is there something else that I have to do to make it smaller?
Maybe it silly, but delete the item bolded in the quote and try again."C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -nm -ne"

Its still not having it, what should it look like?
I can remove the loading screens and put them back on no problem just not small screen.
"C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe -nm -ne"

Its not having it, it says the file path is not valid![]()
I even tried it with just ne in case I can only use one which another user said.
Try getting rid of the quotes that I put in bold.Code:"C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -nm -ne"
C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe -nm -ne"
So it looks like that^^^^

Right, do you want the good news or the bad? You know your getting both.
I have got it working but does it only go into the smaller window on the battle screen? What is the point in that, it is probably the only time you need and/or want a full screen! oh and can someone please get rid of the one post every 5000 seconds please it is very annoying, I know it is there to stop spamming and such practices but ca it at least be shortened??
Well, I cant help you. TosaInu does. Pm' him.
