    Default Don't look at Timbuktu!

Since I removed 1GB of RAM from my PC, it has not crashed when running M2TW for a week now. Before it would crash every ten minutes. Today however, it crashed again, giving me the "unspecified error" message. It happened when I looked at Timbuktu, where my army was besieging the settlement, the last Spanish province.

After it crashes, I restarted the PC and loaded up M2TW again. Played for about an hour doing various battles, and then I moved the screen over to Timbuktu. And I get the same crash as earlier.

Playing 1.2, completely unmodified. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Very interesting. I've noticed that some settlements have sound effects when the camera hovers over them (Like the Alexandria area). I don't recall anything like that for Timbuktu, but it seems a possible culprit. Try turning off sounds for the game?

    Good luck.

The noises are for geographical areas I think . Hover over the Pyrinies for example and hear the wind howling through the mountain passes .
Timbuktu {apparantly there was once another city in the same place called ... Timbukone } is in the Sahara region so you might be getting the sound of wind over sand dunes and I know you get the sound of crashing waves to the left if you move that way a bit which is the Western coast of North Africa .

I'm not going to change for the other three .

Maybe reinstall or upgrade your audio and video drivers? Since people seem to think it might be sound-related, I'd try that first.
