    Post Re: Corruption....

    Hi gaiusjulii,
Corruption is effected by two other statistics - law and distance to capital. As you would expect, law decreases the amount of corruption while the distance to capital increases it.

The cheapest and easiest way to reduce corruption is to re-locate your capital to a more centralised location. The amount of corruption will, on average, lower. On the down-side happiness may decrease in some more distant areas. Bear this in mind while moving.

Another effective way is to construct law boosting buildings and temples. These are expensive, but can do a lot to counteract the problem, often removing mild - moderate problems all together. However, do bear in mind that to construct law temples in settlements, you may have to destroy existing temples. This could provide a drastic decrease in happiness which could result in riots or revolts. Think about whether the settlement could withstand the problem when using this tactic.

The final way is to remove all generals with traits which reduce law away from settlements. You could assign them as generals or simply leave them doing nothing. Alternatively, you could send them on suicide missions or send them on weak fleets through pirate infested waters.

Hope this helps, good luck, cheers!

    Default Re: Corruption....

The above is one type of corruption. Another is this:

When your faction has 50,000 denarii in it's treasurry, every one of your generals has a chance of getting Corrupt traits. At 100,000, the chances and the traits themselves get worse. at 150,000, it happens again.
