my apology if someone had already mentioned this.

Found - English Armoured Sergeants - can be recruitable (kind of). If you get a decent diplomat and work on the rebel/other fractions stacks with armoured sergeants, you can get the armoured sergeants.

+ armoured sergeants are upgradeable, unlike the mercenery spearsmen and
are cheaper to maintain. (same as other fraction armoured spearmen)

    - I dont think armoured sergeants can be retrain (not tested)

    Note - this is vanilla 1.0 MTW2

further thoughts - I wonder if there are other "hidden" units that can be bribe.

there are several factions with units not available in campaign but available in custom battles englands armoured sergeants are some of them but england can support them because technicly england can recruit them it just can't build the buildings to.

Actually England can build castle line barracks up to the top level, its just that the devs didn't allow its recruitment, for unknown reasons. Its easy to switch them to recruitable by modding though.

There is the odd situation now and then, where Armoured Sergeants are preferable to Armoured Swordsmen. Also the OP may want them for realisms sake.

Either God wants to abolish evil and cannot, or he can but does not want to, or he cannot and does not want to, or lastly he can and wants to.

If he wants to remove evil, and cannot, he is not omnipotent. If he can, but does not want to, he is not benevolent. If he neither can nor wants to, he is neither omnipotent nor benevolent. But if God can abolish evil and wants to, how does evil exist?

Balance? What for? Everybody agrees that the Scots are strategically worse off than, say, the HRE. So why balance out building capacities?

Oh, got it: MP. Which not so many people seem to play...
