Thread: Anybody used the French light cannon before?

Default Anybody used the French light cannon before?

Currently in my first French campaign, and saw that the French have this Anti Personnel light cannon which has very long range...which I thought is quite the unique weapon. Not sure which other factions have it.

Anyway, any reviews on this weapon? I was hoping that it is much more accurate that the usual gunpowder artillery since it is supposed to be Anti-Personnel, though less than the ballistae or it'd be overpowered.

p.s I searched the forums, but doesn't seem that anyone used it... most talked about Ribault when it comes to AP artillery.

serpentine is awesome. not as loud as ribault but more effective. combine with pikes and scots guards its a win-win situation.

French, Danes, Germany, perhaps Hungary, and some other fractions has it. Its like a gun-powder version of the balista. Its is great, if you can withstand the horrible french accents.

Byzantine definately doesnt have it (they get bombards). Neither does English, Milan (they get big ass monster ribault instead), Moors, Turks(?), and the Mongols.

don't forget as french, you get one of the best range of artillery to choose from - culverin/cannon, basilisk, bombard (boo!). although basilisk is awesome against walls, normally 1-2 culverins is more than enough.
