    Default Unique cities and wonders

    Hello

I lurk a lot and post rarely but I just have a couple of questions about your excellent mod.

First off I remember from the old RTR forums many a year ago people saying that EB had some historically accurate cities that had been made (in particular the blue gates of Babylon although it is named differently in your mod and I am at work so cannot check what it is called). I have checked this out (only really rememberd last night) and that does not seem to be the case. Was this just a rumour?

Also how can you get custom battles at the seven wonders of the world? They seem to locked when I try and would rather not have to complete a campaign to unlock them as I usually quit a campaign once I think I cannot be possibly defeated.

Anyway, a marvellous mod. Thank you for your effort.

About the gates of Babylon, I think someone mixed up EB with Rise Of Persia, which has those, or at least has them in the trailer. The city of Babylon itself will make its EB debut in the next version, so we'll see. Probably a rumour.

The second question, there shouldn't be any locked wonders in custom battle. If you don't see a huge list of "wonder battlegrounds", including the stonehenge and the royal tombs of Macedonia, then something is screwed up. If you see those, the seven wonders, or at least most of them, should be in that list.

Im quite sure that in EB the gates of Babylon are a special thing, you know with the stonehenge on the map.

the gates of babylon are a stratmap building, not a battlemap building. The gardens are a battlemap building but not a strat map building. Confusing, huh?

    Hello again

I am still having a problem doing custom battles on the wonders map. They are there but when I try to use them they have a yellow cross in a blue box next to them and when the cursor is over them it says "user defined settlement not allowed" or some thing like that.

How do I unlock them please! I would like to do a nice tour of the sights of the age of antiquity tonight. Cheers

They work, you just aren't allowed to put a settlement on the same tile. The buildings are already there, you don't need to add a settlement.

Sorry, I am still having trouble with this. I do not place bulidings on any of the battlemaps I use in custom. When I use other maps no building appear.

I realise I must be coming accross as somewhat slow but does anyone know what I am doing wrong.

    Thanks

I have no idea what the problem is for you. All I have ever had to do is start a custom battle as normal and just leave the advanced options untouched.

Well I don't know. Never even knew there were advanced options.

If I find out what I'm doing wrong I'll tell you.

    Thanks for your help.

Just choose the map and proceed. The mark tells you that you cannot have siege battles here in a settlement you define. Possibly there is already a settlement to fight over there, which you cannot change, or the map has no settlement and can't have one. Nothing blocks you from using the map though.

About the middle of next sometime, is the best we can do at the moment, though it may be sooner.

It'll be a little delayed, so it may be the end of the next sometime, or the start of the one after that.
