my main question is that is there any interest among the developers to make auto-resolve fair?
the reason i say this is because the EB team has put some much effort and time into making a really nice "grand campaign" map. isnt that true? most of the improvements have been at the macro level - realistic troops, cities, wonders, cultures, buildings etc. by having an unfair auto resolve feature, it bogs down the macro campaign to a reallly slow pace and this makes the macro game suffer - perhaps fatally for some of us.
i know you can't cater to all player types but the point i want to make is that you are really penalizing the people who like to focus on grand strategy instead of the minutia of every meaningless battle.
i dont see the point of having put so much work on such a deep campaign map if the game only favors people who like to be involved in every battle.
