    Default Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

This game looks amazing. (video review)

My only problem is that I've played, but never completed it's 2 predecessors... So I have to decide if I want to try and get through them first or go straight for this gem.

Gonna pick it up today, I adored the previous chapters. And what is up with that never completing them?? Ok the second is kinda brutal at times GAH boost guardian GAH but oh so sweet.

Same problem here. I've got Metroid Prime, I've started playing it at least three times, but have always stopped roughly after killing the boss of that ice area. I just never felt motivated enough to keep on going, despite the beautiful setting and atmosphere.

That is where the game starts to really open up, and it becomes a bit too big for some people. When people quit it is usually around there.

Yeah, I just spent so long wandering around looking for seismic disturbances or whatnot that it just wasn't fun anymore; in particular I was getting fed up of going through the Chozo ruins and having to fight those blasted ghosts all the time. I'm all for open-ended environments, but a little guidance would have been nice.

Well that is Metroid. You like it for the excellent surroundings or you love it to death for what it is, I am glad I belong to the latter. If it makes you feel better, you have seen enough to get a feel for all the levels, except the phazon mines lower levels where one tough boss is waiting for you. Don't try echoes, the first is straightforward compared to the at times rediculously hard sequel.

I still haven't beat Prime either. I've been meaning to for a while, and I was at maybe 60%.

Roll on the PAL release ... :hates Nintendo of Europe and their belief that Europeans like waiting stupid amounts of time for non-handheld games:

I got to Phazon Mines in Prime, and had to take a break for a month and a bit thanks to university. When I tried to go back I didn't do terribly well, due to my skills being rusted into dust. Shame; I absolutely loved the game. I picked it up again last year and got lured away by another game. Much of the wonder of exploration was lost; I'd seen the places I was travelling through, killed the enemies I was fghting, and solved the puzzles. Prime 2 I don't want to play until I complete Prime 1. Prime 3 I don't want to play until I complete Primes 1 and 2. I'm more infuriated by the release lag on general principle than lack of Metriod to play.

They'd better put Super Metroid on the PAL virtual console too! I've been waiting years to play that game.

It was pretty much the same story for me. I played and enjoyed the first Prime, but got distracted by a shiny new game. I had a Gamefly subscription at the time Prime 2 came out- so I rented it, played it a bit, thought it looked great and bought it out (Gamefly let you buy your rentals at a discount). But, I didn't want to get too far into the game before I finished the first one.

I'm trying to get into the "Froggy" method of gameplay now where I try to focus on/complete just a couple games at a time before bothering to pick anything else up. Trouble is, so many new, good games seem to be coming out.... The temptation of going straight to Prime 3 is mainly the controls. All 3 should be fun gameplay-wise, but it sounds like Prime3 is the first Wii game to really nail the FPS controls. Being able to play a Prime game with highly intuitive controls is quite a draw.

Oh gahgahgah it's not out here. No Bioshock for me because of Xbox woes. No Metroid Prime Corruption. Ah well there is always Resident evil 4

This game has been my deadline game for the Wii since I first heard about it, and the reviews say the game is exactly what I was hoping for. Too bad I can't play it until I go back to the US!

    Got it. Playing it.

    VERY Annoyed.

The Wii-mote controls are much improved over the gamepad in terms of theoretical accuracy. I say theoretical accuracy because every single beam weapon strapped onto that hyper advanced power suit Samus walks around in moves like my grandma drives.

Better accuracy really doesn't help much if step one is "Guess where you opponent will be 2 seconds from now, when your shot actually gets there."
