Default Is changing control of factions possible in Kingdoms?

I just got kingdoms a week ago and am quite keen to try and play as england in the americas campaign. I tried the console command, control_faction to control england and more importantly uncontrol the faction i started with so i can autopilot to englands emergence, however it wont work even on hotseat.

I managed to do it quite easily in medieval 2, has there been a change in kingdoms?

and does anyone know a work around?

The command is simply called "control"
And you have to have hotseat enabled for it.

Moved to the modding questions forum.

yup, as alpaca has said - you have to run the campaign as hotseat one (with dev console active to type in the "control" command)

I'm currently playing the Americas campaign as the New France, but to fully enjoy it I had to do a few tweaks to campaign script.- for example I've deactivated some of the reinforcements, because otherwise I've quickly bankrupted Also it's not much fun to play as them, as you have the access to all units already in the 1st level town, so mass producing high-quallity army is easy as pie
