    Default Launcher w/out connection?

Using the Launcher when I don't have an internet connection causes the launcher.exe app to not exit when the game itself starts. I didn't see this posted elsewhere (Poor search-fu?), so I'm wondering if it's unique to my system somehow. Anyone else confirm?

Why use the launcher when you don't have a connection? Err, don't, I just did it by force of habit and noticed a bit of a continuing CPU hit after I exited the game. Task Manager showed the above.

Also does anyone know if the Kingdoms launcher(s) have the same issue?

    Thanks.

Yeah, I've noticed this first time I started the game, but I didn't know that no internet connection causes this. Anyway, I don't use the launcher.

There's a thread I started with this subject when I noticed the problem.

Ah, so that's the cause of it - good to know

You can simply disable the launcher by editing the shortcut from '...launcher.exe' to '...medieval2.exe' - that's probably the quickest and easiest way to do things...

When you first put the CD in, a window appears very briefly that give you a "run locally" option, but you have to be quick. You're better off taking the suggestions already given.

He's referring to the 1.2 launcher; the DemoShield one does not require a net connection.
