Anyone interested in starting a hotseat campaign for Kingdoms- the crusades?
If so I'll take Antioch
Kingdom of Jerusalem - Tristan de Castelreng (France GMT+2)
Principality of Antioch - Elite Ferret (UK GMT+1)
Egypt - Doug-Thompson (US central GMT-5)
Turkey - PrivateerKev
The Byzantine Empire - Zim
All battles will be auto resolved and the console will be disabled.

I will give it a try as soon as I get kingdoms... Waiinting for a friend coming back from the States with it in his luggage...
P.S. : I'd like to play Jerusalem
I've got Kingdoms and will install it ASAP
[EDIT] I've installed Kingdoms, it runs fine and I'm ready to go...

Never tried this. How does it work?

Quite simple in fact
All you need is have Kingdoms crusades installed...
The first player plays his turn saves and upload the save to the pbm thread here on the Org or Filefront.
The second player down loads it and plays his turn and so on...
Player/AI battles are generally played out in your turn whereas PvP battles are auto-resolved
PvP Diplomacy has to be agreed in advance and exchange of PM for diplomacy is encouraged (Some behind the scenes dealing...

)
Console is out
That's about it...
Hope to have you on board (maybe as the Turks ?)
We'll discuss the rules once all players are ready and I may start up a diplomacy thread and make a rule that all official dealings are done in public but there should not be much to discuss seeing as everyone but the Byzantines starts of with a war and an alliance. I will start the game off with the proper options we will use and uploaad the file as 'Crusades1-1' to mean first turn then first player. All you need to do is download your save save and play your turn simple. I will post a table to show everyone their number when everyone has joined.

No problem here ...
How goes recruitment ?
i've gotten word from Doug and he seems OK to go (with perhaps a bit of help on the techncal side of things (dow/uploads and so on...)
From I read he would choose Egypt and then Turks in preference order
yep he sent me the same message hopefully he will upload files to the right place and he can have Egypt
I've only had negative responses other than Doug but some people may get Kingdoms soon.
You realise this means that you will be fighting Doug for most of the game lol
_Tristan_ 18:45 09-07-2007
Looking forward to i in fact ...lol
Him having written the Missile Cavalry Guide...
don't worry about that all battles will be autoresolved to make it fair on all players
Doug-Thompson 19:56 09-07-2007
I love it when my reputation precedes me, especially when it's unearned.
I've never played online or multi-player anything, and will probably get my head handed to me on a platter. Could be a quick game, folks. I'm a theorist, which is nice and easy when you don't have to back it up.

Too bad about the autoresolve...
I had forgotten about it...

Although I'm not likely to get Kingdoms anytime soon, I must say what a wonderful idea this is. Hotseat campaigns like this, where there are only a handful of factions and everyone can have a player, look like they'll be a lot of fun.
_Tristan_ 20:22 09-07-2007
@Bob : When making the table listing factions and players could you add locations and local time of players
okay I think I am in GMT+1 atm bacause of daylight saving time what time zone are you in Doug?

GMT does not vary with DST, it is standard..
It is just to know when I have most chances of reaching other players
well at the bottom of the page it says 'all times are GMT+1' and that time is the same as on my clock so I guess I am in GMT+1

_Tristan_ 21:41 09-07-2007
Right on the mark
Proletariat 22:07 09-07-2007
I'd like to gives this a shot as the Turks, if it's still open. Never tried any hot seat games before, but it sounds fun.

U.S. Central Time, which is GMT -5.
At this moment, it's the 9:10 p.m. in Greenwich and 4:10 p.m. here.
So if we're trying to do this all at once, with people making moves in fast succession, we may have a bit of a problem.
If you really need another person Bob I'll be Byzzies
Edit: but I won't be able to take turns in the weekends
The Outsider 22:35 09-07-2007
this looks quite interesting i will get the game in a few weeks time and than if u guys r around here i would love to join you.
okay Proletariat can take Turkey and Stig can have Byzantium, don't worry about the timezones Tristan just wanted to check where everyone is, we'll get started as soon as possible (tommorrow if we can get the rules straight).
Don't worry The Turk in a few weeks time I may start another one
Doug-Thompson 23:20 09-07-2007
I will be out of town tomorrow. Sunday evening at the earliest for me.
don't worry I think the Egyptians are one of the last factions to have a turn, we'll sort it out tomorrow, I'm going to bed
