Well no-one would have known that you used it for those things if you hadn't said, and if no-one knew nobody here would want to try. Alright then we'll start afresh tomorrow.

Well I'm afraid I don't have time to be gamesmaster anymore but I can still play. PK, Tristan, Doug or Zim can take over if they want and use their own method of being gamesmaster.
I'll take it if Tristan, Doug, or Zim don't want it. If I don't hear any major objections within 24 hours, I will start up the first savegame.
I'd like to keep this thread so I'd ask EF to help me maintain the first post. Rules will pretty much be the same except I'll need passwords before I start up. And I'll want to keep the game moving at a brisk pace.![]()
But I came into this late and am "new". If one of the others want to run this game, they are more than welcome to.
I think we have a good gaming group here and I'd be more than happy to play under any of you.![]()

Feel free to start the new game, PK, although I'd use a different thread for it.
I'll be happy to do it if you don't want to, but the way things are going in KOTR, I may end up with added resposibilities there I should tend to.

Alright Zim,
I still want Tristan and Doug's input first since they were here before me. If they don't object, I'll start a new thread and a new savegame tomorrow. If I get their opinion today, I'll do it sooner.

EDIT : PK, start whenever you feel like it but expect some (little) lag on my part... Being father of a month-old little girl takes up some time on top of everything else...

Alright, I'll start things up in an hour or two. Tosa has been given me some tips on how to use the Administrator function of the game.
It will be same factions and rules. I'll make a new thread.
Unless people want to swap factions. If so, please let me know soon or I'll just assume people want the old ones.

Briefly, it is possible to play human vs. human battles, just for fun, and for multiplayer practice.
When 2 or more human armies meet on the CampMap, those players whose armies are involved note the exact composition of their armies (no cheating ofc), and log onto multiplayer to play the battle out. Unfortunately the battle on the CampMap still has to be auto resolved unless someone is willing to mod the army compositions in the save game (which I think is possible, not sure though, that has tro be double checked) to reflect the actual outcome of the battle online.
The problems with this being fully implemented is that it creates another layer of presence for the human player i.e. people have to get together at the same time to fight the battle. Most gamers are casual and don't like commitment, and it's always been extremely hard, in my experience, to get more than 4-5 people online at the same time. Of course with the exception of those extremely dedicated & respected TW vets whose passion, no whose love, truly was Total War ! Those guys were always online, at work, during sex, feeding the dogs, etc. Bit extreme but yeah a LOT of us have been there, that was in MTW:VI days back when this was actually a multiplayer game. Anyway OT aside, the other problem ofc is that if you want the battle results reflected in the save game, you need to have someone modify the save to reflect the new situation. If this is achieved you have as perfect a multiplayer campaign as is possible right now. Another problem is that some people are still on dial up or slower connections and even though it's perfectly feasible to play multiplayer without broadband, the broadband users will always have a transfer rate advantage.
Don't think it would work for the campaign, but it might be fun anyway.
Doug, in fact if you want to give it a go, I'm willing to do a completely non competitive, friendly 1vs1 Hotseat with you, and we can try it out. However, I cannot start before next week Friday.
Just wanted to throw that out, GAME ON !

Hi Sinan!
We jumped threads. So if you want to keep up with events from the latest Crusade game, you can follow them here:https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=95410
EF and I are actually trying to get this thread shut down since it has pretty much outlived it's usefulness. That and I don't want people getting confused from there being two Crusade Hotseat Threads but only one Crusade Hotseat Game.
